Gombe United star man, Austin Oladapo has tipped his side to stage a comeback against Wikki Tourists in the remaining minutes of the NPFL game at the Elkanemi Sports Complex, Maiduguri.
Last weekend, the game was called off due to crowd trouble at the Pantami Stadium shortly after the Bauchi Elephants went ahead through defender Maurice Chigozie’s own goal.
The former FC Ifeanyi Ubah midfielder said he and his teammates must strive to correct the impression of fans and football followers that they have sold the game out.
“We thank God we have a second chance to correct the mistake we made in Gombe. Even though it is a neutral ground for both teams, we must do everything possible to ensure that we win this game for our fans,” Oladapo told Goal.
“The impression back home is not too good and we must prove them wrong by staging a comeback and winning the match.
Gombe United is relegated already but the outcome of this game will decide the fate of Shooting Stars and Wikki Tourists.
