Former Super Eagles coach and Olympic Bronze medal-winning coach, Samson Siasia, has been shortlisted for the vacant coaching positions of southern Africa duo of Rwanda and South Africa.
The former Super Eagles coach, and Nigerian ex-international whose last job was guiding the Nigerian U-23 team to a bronze medal in Brazil during the 2016 Rio Olympics amidst very difficult circumstances, let his contract run out and refused to renew.
He is among the last eight shortlisted by the Rwandan Football Federation and the only African on the list. The South Africa Football Association also shortlisted the Nigerian alongside a host of big names like Mancini, Trappatoni, Shehata and also AFCON-winning coach, Hugo Broos.
Siasia, who owns a football academy Sia1 in Nigeria, is regarded as one of Nigeria’s best coaches as he has posted impressive records with Nigeria age grade teams and also makes his team play good football.
