Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is monitoring the performances of three German-born Nigerians playing for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
On top of his list per reports is highly rated sensation Chinedu Ekene, who is one of the players to be promoted to the Bundesliga team’s senior team next summer.
Ekene has played for Germany’s youth teams, from U15 to U18 but is eligible for Nigeria though his dad, although born in Germany.
Rohr is also said to be monitoring two other 17 year old Nigerian players in the youth team of Leverkusen, in Ufumwen Osawe, a striker and Maduka Okoye – a goalkeeper.
The Super Eagles technical adviser revealed last week that ADO den Haag defender Tyronne Ebuehi will be playing for Nigeria against Senegal in March has been out and out searching for players with Nigerian roots all over Europe, trying to convince them to play for Nigeria.
