Sunderland’s Victor Anichebe has been on a fine form with his Premier League side after scoring three goals in four appearances for the Black Cats and seem to have caught Gernot Rohr’s attention.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach, Rohr, is in England and might be handing the big striker a call up if his form continues.
Anichebe scored a brace against Hull City last month in a 3-0 league win for the Black Cats and manager David Moyes will be hoping his faith in the Nigerian is replicated on the pitch, as well as Nigeria national team coach, Rohr.
The former Everton striker has formed a fantastic partnership with Jermaine Defoe in the Sunderland attack and will be looked upon to help steer the team out of the relegation zone.
The 28-year-old has played 11 times for Nigeria scoring a single goal. He was also part of the silver-winning Beijing 2008 Olympics football squad..
