Players and officials of Confluence Queens Football Club of Lokoja, have been charged by the club management to brace up and double their efforts in the upcoming 2014/2015 Nigeria Women Premier League Super Six.
Chairman of the club, Mallam Abdul Sule who stated this in Lokoja noted that the mini-league billed for Umuahia, Abia State, is a must win for the girls to appreciate the support of their sport loving state Governor, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada.Confluence Queens alongside Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons and Sunshine Queens will battle it out in Umuahia the Abia State capital from 2nd to 5th November, 2015 to determines the winner of the 2014/15 Nigeria Women Premier League.

Sule, a former Super Eagles utility player who has promised necessary support for his team to lift the trophy to justify the huge investment the state government expended on them.

According to the Sule; “This is the right time to repay the governor for his efforts made to reposition football in Kogi State, we have to make sure the title is ours at the end of the whole exercise. I know if you all are prepared, we can win it for Governor Wada.”

The Hummel Ambassador to Africa stated further on the chances of Confluence Queens edging others to the prestigious cup, admitting that its not an easy task, even though he believes its achievable.

“We have all it takes to compete with others for the title, all we need to do is remain focus and work very hard to clinched the trophy.”

“The likes of Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, and Sunshine Queens are not a pushover, they are all good and experience sides when we talk about Women Football in Nigeria, but am optimistic we stand a very good chance just like others.”

The Wada Queens finished 3rd in group A behind Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens to qualify for this year’s Nigeria Women League Super Six. While Rivers Angels tops group B followed by Sunshine Queens and Nasarawa Amazons.

Sunday 1st November is the arriving date for the competition in Umuahia, while teams are expected to know their opponents as the draws will be held same day by 6pm..
