Nigerian youngsters plying their trade in England, Jordon Ibe, Chuba Akpom, Dele Alli and Dominic Iorfa have all earned call up to the England U-21 squad to play USA in September as announced by the FA on Tuesday.

Nigerians have hoped that the above named players will feature for Nigeria eventually but it seems they might not have been convinced to switch allegiance.

It can be recalled that Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh traveled to England last month to persuade Liverpool’s Jordon Ibe to play for the Nigerian senior team but the young man might be setting his sights at the Three Lions teams.

Dominic Iorfa
Dominic Iorfa

Dominic Iorfa, whose father was a footballer and played for Nigeria and is a football administrator in the country has not been approached to play for Nigeria according to reports. He plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Championship presently.

Chuba Akpom has represented England at all youth international levels from the U-16 to U-20. He is presently on loan to Hull City from Arsenal and touted as one of the talents to represent Nigeria at the senior level.

Dele Alli
Dele Alli

Dele Alli has also represented England in all youth levels before this as a midfielder. He joined Tottenham Hotspur from MK Dons where he scored 22 goals in 75 appearances for the Championship side.

All these Nigerian players still can represent their father land so far they have not played for the senior team of any other country.
