Midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has expressed his desire to remain with Enyimba ahead of the 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The former Heartland man was instrumental to the side’s impressive performance in the just concluded season as the 2015 Champions of the NPFL got a CAF Confederation Cup ticket.
The deadball specialist’s contract with the Aba-based side ended at the end of the season but “Moskito” is hopeful that he can secure another contract that will keep him at the two-time African champions.
“I do not have a contract with Enyimba at the moment; my contract elapsed at the end of the season.
“Yes, there is a contract negotiation going on at the moment between my manager and the club management.
“Nothing has been agreed yet but I’m positive that I will land a new contract at the end of the day.
“Enyimba is like a family to me and I will be ready to always give the side my very best,” the former Warri Wolves Man told Supersport
