Go-round FC secured a narrow 1-0 win over South-South rivals, Warri Wolves in Omoku. The only goal of the game came through Ekunta Etenfa’s spotkick which has therefore reduced Heartland’s lead at the top five points.

Conference leaders Heartland lost 2-1 in Ijebu-ode to Gateway United. Goals from John Uche and Seyi Ola gave the Rock City Boys a 2-0 lead going into the break; after the restart, Okoro Ndukwe scored a long-range strike with the last kick of the game to reduce the deficit for the visitors.

The defeat has now left the Soccer Scientists’ promotion hanging in the balance after failing to win any of their last three games.

In Brass, Bayelsa United stayed on course for promotion as they thumped abia Comets 5-1. 4 goals from Akinibinu Samuel and another goal from Sunday Owoyemi was all the home side needed to put their visitors to the sword and remain one point behind second placed Go-round FC.

Goals from Ufuoma Ajamikoko and Yomi Olaoke gave 4th placed Delta Force a 2-0 win over Osun United at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium, Ogwuashi on Saturday to keep pace with the top three.
