Nigeria have booked their place in next year’s CHAN, after claiming a 2-0 win (2-1 agg) over Benin in the return leg of the 2018 CAF African Nations Championship qualifier at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Saturday.

The Super Eagles avenged their 1-0 loss at Stade l’Amitie, Benin last week, and started the game well with Rabiu Ali scoring the opener in the 22nd minute, before Kingsley Eduwo doubled the lead for the home based Eagles, two minutes after second half.

Benin were given a penalty following a hand ball in the box by Emmanuel Ariwachukwu, and goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa saved it to deny the Squirrels’s Mama Seibou.

The 2018 (CHAN) Africa Nations Championship will be hosted by Kenya, and the Salisu Yusuf led Nigerian team will be there to represent Nigeria.
