Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru has revealed his love for Arsenal, stating that club legend Thierry Henry is his idol.
The 19 year old striker who recently made his debut for Nigeria’s senior national team in friendly against Togo also confirmed that Arsenal are among the teams interested in signing him, and will likely make a decision on his next move after Nigeria’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa June 10.
Arsenal have agreed a fee to sign the Nigerian, according to widespread reports, pending the agreement of personal terms.
”Thierry Henry has always been my idol since I was a kid. I was watching him play, watching Arsenal and going to YouTube to watch most of his games,” Onyekuru told thenff.com.
”I remember saying if I had to move to the Premier League I want to be like Thierry Henry, so it’s likely to come true and I’m looking towards it at the moment.”
He added : ”It’s a good feeling for a club like Arsenal to make a bid for me, this is due to my hard work in training and games.
”I am waiting and working towards it and we’ll see how it goes after the qualifiers.”
