Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) leading scorer, Stephen Odey, is delighted with his brace scored for MFM FC in 2-1 win over table toppers Plateau United at the Agage Stadium.

Odey, who surpassed his last season goal tally of nine on Sunday, bagged both goals for the Olukoya Boys at the stroke of half-time and two minutes to time in the second half. Both goals cancelled out Peter Eneji’s equaliser for Plateau in the 62nd.

The 19-year-old wishes to score goals.

“I am delighted with this brace, but particularly the three points against a good side like Plateau United,” Odey said.

“I scored nine goals in over 26 games last season but after ten games this season, I have scored ten. It’s a great feeling and I want to score as much as I can.

“I won’t be setting a goal target for myself,” Odey who got a standing ovation at the Agege stadium when he was replaced in the closing stages of the encounter reiterated.

On his Super Eagles snub for the fortcoming friendlies against The Teranga Lions of Senegal on Thursday, March 23 and Burkina Faso four days later on the 27th of March, 2017, Odey said he will keep scoring to earn his invitation to the senior national team.

“I’m not worried about that, but I will keep scoring goals to help MFM,” he stated.

MFM FC have now moved up to second on the log, on point behind Plateau United and with an outstanding game..
