Reports on TVC Nigeria say that in-form MFM FC striker, Stephen Odey, has turned down a move to FC Rostov in Russia as his agents say he prefers a move to mainland Europe.
The surprising transfer of Ezekiel Bassey must have injected more belief into NPFL players unlike before when they will run at just about any offer from Europe.
“I have very little say in this, mine is to play football. If my representatives tell me to take up the offer, I will because I trust their judgment,” Odey said, according to TVC.
“I am just concentrating on my football and try to give my best. I strongly believe this is my year and I will put enough hard work in order to excel this season.”
Odey, who is the current highest goal scorer in the NPFL after scoring five goals in six matches, is expected to turn out for the Olukoya boys when they visit ABS Ilorin FC in a Matchday seven fixture.
