Head coach of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) newcomers, Katsina United, Bala Nkiyu has resigned his position as gaffer of the club.
The former Nigeria women’s Under-17 team was appointed just before the commencement of the current NPFL season.
The club released an official statement on the departure saying that both parties reached a mutual agreement to part ways.
“The club and coach Nkiyu has reached an agreement to part ways after months of working together. The management wishes him well in his future endeavor and appreciates him for his services rendered to the club,” the club statement reads.
The management of Katsina United have appointed Nkiyu’s assistant, coach Baldwin Bazuaye as the team’s interim manager.
Nkiyu, during his short stint as coach of the northern side, won two of the five NPFL games in charge. He drew one and lost the other two games.
Kastina United are currently sitting ninth in the league table with seven points..
