The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) resumes this Wednesday in the second matchday of the 2017 season. Matchday 1 was really enthralling for lovers of Nigerian football and the fun and entertainment continues in 10 centers on Wednesday. We will look at one of them, Abia Warriors vs Katsina United.

This will be the first time these two sides will be meeting at this level in their football history. Both teams come into this game from impressive wins in their season opener, recording the same 2-1 scoreline.

Hosts, Abia Warriors fought for a comeback win, their first ever victory over defending Champions, Rangers International FC in Enugu after goals from Emeka Isaac and Godwin Zaki ensured the Ochendo boys returned to Umuahia with all 3 points.

On the other hand, goals from Tasin Lawal and Sulaiman Ibrahim made sure Mannir Ubale’s 14th minute strike accounts for nothing as the visiting Gombe United went home emptyhanded from the Karakanda Stadium in Katsina.

Veteran Coach, Okey Emordi is optimistic that his Abia Warriors side will consolidate on their opening day victory as they are determined to succeed and will let their determination ultimately lead them to success this season. The match is billed to kickoff at the Umuahia Township Stadium by 4pm.
