The Super Sand Eagles of Nigeria started their 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 3-2 victory over Egypt at the Eko Atlantic Beach in Lagos.

Captain of the team, Isiaka Olawale, struck early in the game and Emeka Ogbonna scored a brace to secure the win for the two-time African champions on Tuesday.

Nigeria are second in the Group A table after matchday 1 as Ivory Coast occupy the top spot on goal difference having earlier defeated Ghana 5-0 before the Egypt victory.
