Wikki Tourists striker Godwin Obaje has joined Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel after putting pen to paper on Tuesday.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) highest goalscorer for the 2016 season with 18 goals was on the verge of moving to Russian club Spartak Moscow but failed his medical and had to take a U-turn back to Africa with interests from many top clubs in the continent.
Obaje who helped Wikki Tourists finish third last term and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup confirmed the report.
“I have signed for Etoile du Sahel, I started talks with them after they expressed interest in me and they tabled down a good offer,” Obaje said.
“I’m pleased with the terms in the contract and I have to repay them for the kind of confidence they have in me by exhibiting good performance on the field,” he added.
Etoile will feature in next year’s CAF Champions League after winning the Tunisian league title ahead of rivals Esperance last season.
