A member of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, has come out to deny all speculations that the NFF will sack coach of the Nigeria Under-23 team, Samson Siasia.
Reports on local media make the rounds for the past few days stated with strong indications that the Olympic medal-winning coach would be sacked after a fall in with the country’s football governing body, but all claims on that have now been rubbished.
“There has never been a time we in the technical committee [of the NFF] or at the executive committee level discussed any such thing. I am a member of both committees and never has that come up for discussion,” Fresh said while speaking with Sports Vanguard.
Fresh admitted to Siasia been queried by the NFF but still insists that a decision for a sack has never been reached in the light of the query.
“But that was not enough for the media to suggest that it would lead to Siasia’s sack.
“Siasia was queried and he has since answered to the query. It is a normal administrative procedure which should not call for speculations that are unfounded.
“There is no intention to sack Siasia,” he concluded..
