Sunshine Stars of Akure coach Kennedy Boboye has said that his team can still represent Nigeria at the CAF Confederation Cup come next season.

The Owena Waves are presently placed fourth on the league table with 60 points after playing out a 1-1 draw to Lobi Stars in the conclusion of their abandoned Game Week 35 game in Abuja. The equaliser scores by Prince Aggreh in the 8-minute duel revived the hopes of a continental ticket for Boboye.

“Of course, we can claim a continental ticket if we win Sunday’s match against champions Enyimba in Lagos and Nasarawa United overcome Giwa FC in Lafia as well as Wikki Tourists winning the tie against Kano Pillars.

“If that scenario plays out all the mentioned teams will finish on 63 points while we go ahead to nip the ticket on superior goals.

“We will commence training for the clash against Enyimba on Friday and I strongly believe everyone knows the importance of Sunday’s duel.

“The hard-fought point we claimed against Lobi Stars is the turnaround we needed to stake a claim on a possible ticket and we will not allow the new opportunity to slip off our hands,” said Boboye to

Sunshine Stars will face already crowned league champions, Enyimba FC, in their last league game on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos..
