The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria failed to avenge their loss to the Under 17 team of Croatia at the 2015 U-17 Suwon Invitational Tournament in their final match of the group stage on Friday.

Already qualified for the latter stage of the competition after winning their first two matches, Nigeria lost 2-1 to the Croats at the Estadio Francisco Sanchez Rumoroso in Coquimbo.


It was the tournaments highest goal scorer, Victor Osimhen, who drew first blood for the Golden Eaglets on the night by finding the back of the net in the 20th after hitting the woodwork 4 minutes earlier.

Brekalo and Majic both scored in the space of 3 minutes after the break to win it for Croatia and see their country qualify 2nd on the group table with 5 points.

In the second group A match, USA national team crashed out of Under – 17 World Cup after losing to host Chile 4-1..
