Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi, presently having a trial at Sunderland, will be decided on this new week by the English club.
Obasi is presently a free agent after been released by Bundesliga club Schalke 04, and was invited for a trial at Sunderland subject to a permanent contract with the club.
“He’s been injured with a broken shin, and that had taken a long time for him to recover, and he spent some rehab time in America,” Sunderland coach Sam Allardyce said.
“His agent got hold of me and said he was worth looking at based on his CV, which looked pretty good, so we’ll make a judgement early next week.”
Obasi only made 10 Bundesliga starts in his 3 seasons with Schalke because of series of injuries he suffered at the German side..
