Nigeria’s U20 women national team Falconets will take on the Basetana of South Africa in the final round of qualifiers for next year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

However, coach of the South African team, Elisabeth Migchelsen is aware of the threat possessed by the Falconets who dumped DR Congo 4-1 on aggregate on their way to the final round.

“We knew that if we went through we will end up with Nigeria, and we also know it will be twice as much a battle as we had against Zambia. It is going to be very hard and difficult to beat Nigeria,” said coach Migchelsen.

Nigeria has qualified for every edition of the U20 women’s world cup since it began, the team reached the final of the 2014 mundial in Canada before losing 1-0 to Germany after extra time.

Falconets will host the Basetana in the first leg of the final round on October 24 in Abuja with the return leg scheduled for November 7 in Johannesburg.
