The Nigeria Football Federation, via their official twitter account late yesterday, broke the news that Manchester City playmaker, Kelechi Iheanacho, has been included to the 23-man  list of invitees for the World Cup qualifier match against Swaziland in November.

Coach Sunday Oliseh initially released a list of 23 players, which the recall of Obafemi Martins of Seattle Sounders was the top topic of discuss and surprise. But later opted to include Iheanacho to make it a total of 24 players invited for the make or break encounter in Swaziland.

Oliseh obviously had a change of heart about including the 19-year-old with the series of great performances he has been putting up for his English club.

Oliseh said while speaking with The NFF:

“I initially called up 23 players but I am adding Kelechi Iheanacho to the list immediately,”Oliseh told

“I have been following Kelechi’s progress at City.”
