Coach Sunday Oliseh have given reason to why he handed a late invitation to Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Swaziland.

The Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] on Thursday released a 23-man list for the qualifier with Kelechi Iheanacho’s name missing. But coach Oliseh who is currently in Belgium undergoing bed rest, explained the last inclusion of the teenage prodigy striker.

“I initially called up 23 but after seeing repeat of #MCFC v #CPFC #CapitalOneCup, I’m adding Iheanacho to the list,” Oliseh explained.

Kelechi Iheanacho shone like a million stars in Manchester City’s 5-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace in the Capital One Cup tie, where he scored a goal and added two assists, which saw him winning the man-of-the-match award after the game.
