Super Eagles youngster Alex Iwobi scored a brace in the second half as Arsenal U19 Youth team defeated Bayern Munich U19 Youth team 2-0 in the UEFA Youth League at the Meadow Park.

In a keenly contested match, both teams showed goal signs in the first half but could not break through after wasting goal-scoring opportunities.

Iwobi, who was a tormentor for the opposing defenders, showed flashes on several occassions; but his attempts in the first half were not good enough to break way for the hosts.

The second half soon began with Arsenal dictating the pace of the game. On the run of play, the Gunners took the lead through Iwobi.

The striker, in a spectacular fashion outside the box, turned before firing the ball into the top corner leaving the goalkeeper with no answer.

Four minutes later, the Nigerian international doubled the Gunners’ advantage when he applied a controlled finish at the back post to seal the win and help his side maintained an unbeaten run.
