Simon, who came on as a 69th minute substitute for Benito Raiman against the French side, has featured in all seven matches in their domestic league of the current campaign.

“Glad to see Moses Simon start for Gent as they take on Lyon in the Champions league. A good week for our super Eagles players so far,” Oliseh wrote on his twitter handle.

Midfielder John Obi Mikel was not listed for Chelsea, as the Premier League side thrashed Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. The Israeli club had Nigerian midfielder, Nosa Igiebor on for 90 minutes in the game.

Elsewhere in Greece, Brown Ideye‘s Olympiacos suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. Ideye played the entire duration but was unable to inspire his team against their visitors.
