Football Naija can report on Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel, as his representative in Turkey, Mesrin Izzet has revealed that he could still make a move to Besiktas in the January window transfer.

Mikel has seen his playing time at Chelsea limited, with coach Jose Mourinho preferring Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in the midfield roles.

He was recently linked with Serie A clubs SSC Napoli and Inter Milan. And it was however revealed that Chelsea actually blocked his move to Turkey after they failed to sign Juventus’ Paul Pogba.

However, Izzet told Turkish football radio Radyospor that he has an authority from Mikel’s agent to represent his client in Turkey said that the midfielder may now make the move to Besiktas in January.

“Mikel could join Beşiktaş in January in-fact it would not be a surprise as he wants to play in Turkey and wants first team football,” İzzet said.

The 28-year old midfielder still has another two years left on his contract with Chelsea, has made one appearance this season, will be willing to make the move to Besiktas in search for enough playing time.
