Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has described Nigerian starlet Kelechi Iheanacho as “a great talent and a mystery man” after he came off the bench to score the match winner against Crystal Palace.
Making his second league appearance of the season for the club, Iheanacho was introduced for Wilfried Bony in the 89th minute and found the net in the stoppage time to give City a 1-0 win as they continue in their impressive run of form.
In Kompany’s words: “You tell me about him! He’s the mystery man. He’s been around the club for a while, had a bit of difficulty sorting out his papers, work permit and stuff, but always been a great talent.
“He’s had a really good pre-season, even when he didn’t play well he scored.
“At the moment it looks like he’s third in the pecking order, and at his young age and at this kind of club, it’s a massive achievement already.
“So for him to score I can only hope that he’s going to score even more for us. It’s great for the club to have a young player coming through.”
