The draw for the second edition of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations have been made where Nigeria’s Dream Team VI will take on Egypt, Algeria and Mali in Group B.
Dream Team VI defeated the Junior Red Devils of Congo 2-1 on aggregate in the qualifying campaign to the tournament.
Junior Ajayi scored a brace before Nkonkou Moise grabbed a consolatory goal in the first leg. Both teams settled for a barren draw in the second leg which ensured the Dream Team VI’s qualification.
Elsewhere hosts Senegal will take on South Africa in the opening match of the tournament in Group A which also have Zambia and Tunisia.
The Africa U23 Cup of Nations will also serve as qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The tournament has been scheduled for 28 November – 12 December, 2015 across two venues; Dakar and M’Bour.
The top three teams will qualify to represent Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games, where as the fourth placed team will engage in a play off with an Asian side.
