The Falcons had already qualified for the semi finals alongside the Les Elephantes but were beaten to the top of the Group position after the defeat.

Mercy Amanze put the team in front in the early minutes of the encounter but they failed to convert other scoring chances to put the game beyond their opponents.

The Ivorian ladies found their way back into the game on the stroke of half time, with Rebecca Eloh getting the equaliser.

The seven-time Africa champions conceded a penalty after Osinachi Ohale fouled Christelle N’guessan in the area box and Estelle Nahi made no mistake in converting the resultant spot kick.
