Liverpool are set to announce the arrival of Nigeria U-23 striker, Taiwo Awoniyi after the youngster impressed coaches at the Merseyside side club.

The 18-year-old is presently in Liverpool finalizing deals to join the Reds, according to Liverpool Echo, and will be joining up with Dream Team VI camp later ahead of the All-Africa Games.

“He will leave this week for England to sign his contract with Liverpool and that is why he is not here training with us for the All Africa Games,” Ebikagboro told African Football on Wedenesday.

Portuguese club, Porto and Monaco of France were also interested in the goal getter until Liverpool snatched the deal eventually.
