garba lawalFormer Super Eagles winger, Garba Lawal, has warned new coach of the Nigerian National team, Sunday Oliseh, against making a wholesale change to the Super Eagles squad he met on ground.

Oliseh is set to release the list of foreign based players to be invited for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game against Tanzania which will take place next month, and Lawal have advised his former team mate against making a total overhaul of players that were invited by the former coach, Stephen Keshi.

Lawal said he expects to see some of the players that were on Keshi’s roster to make the invite because Oliseh cannot afford to remove all the players and get fresh legs as replacements.

“I don’t think he should be in a hurry to make a change to the team,” Lawal said.

“It’s not possible to just sack all the players, it’s not possible. He has to make a gradual change because I believe everybody in the team now is important. Whether the new or the old players, all are important so I will advise a gradual change if he wants, and nothing wholesale.”

“I do expect we will see some of the regular faces we know because he can’t remove all the players at once,” Garba Lawal concluded.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria face Tanzania in their second 2017 AFCON Qualifier match away from home on September 4. They defeated Chad 2-0 in the first match in Kaduna.
