Cairo-based football club, Ah Ahly of Egypt announced their 25-man squad for the new season on Thursday and Nigerian striker, Peter Ebimobowei was no where to be found on the list due to failure of making a positive impact since joining from Bayelsa United in January.
Ebimobowei was not the only player to get the boot from the Red Devils. German-Brazilian midfielder, Hendrik Helmke was also shown the door after the omission of his name from the squad list.
The 8-time CAF Champions League winners have signed 6 players during the transfer window and are still looking to acquire the services of veteran striker, Mohamed Nagy ‘Gedo’.
Ebimobowei, 21, will most likely return to the Nigerian league in search of acceptance by any of the clubs in the top flight.
The striker scored 33 goals for Bayelsa United in 50 appearances.
