Father of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender, Dominic Iorfa has assured Nigerians that his son “will still play for Nigeria” but not until he turns 23 years of age as reported by African Football.

Dom Iorfa (father) played professional club football in England, Scotland, Turkey, Ireland and Belgium, and represented Nigeria at the senior level between 1987 and 1991 as a striker.

Iorfa (son) got a call-up into the U-21 of England this week and it brought doubts on if the 19-year-old will play for his fatherland, but his father has come out to confirm that his son will still represent the country just as he did.

“My boy will still play for Nigeria, but that will be when he is 23, much older and matured, because a lot of things are going on in the age-group teams and nobody wants to be messed up,” said Iorfa senior, the Lobi Stars vice-chairman..
