Kwara United defensive midfielder, Dare Ojo believes that the Harmony Warriors’ present form is “not a problem” when his team faces rivals from Ibadan, Shooting Stars SC in Sunday’s NPFL match.
Ojo, who has helped the Ilorin-based club with 4 league goals this season, promised Harmonians that Kwara United will put smiles on their faces after 90 minutes on Sunday despite losing their last 3 matches in the league while speaking to FootballNaija.Sportive23.com.ng
“This is a big derby. It’s a major rivalry in the NPFL and form is disregarded. It’s not a problem. We know how to play and beat 3SC. So, we’ll put smiles on the faces of our fans tomorrow (Sunday),” said the midfield maestro.
The Oluyole Warriors parade a squad that has former Kwara United players like Olukokun Najeem, Adamu Yahaya, Suraj Sodiq and Phouhad Ekelojuoti. But Ojo plays down their effect on the teams game play.
“They (Shooting Stars) have almost 5 of our former players there. I think they have only 3 coming for this match. These are players the whole team knows very well.
“They can’t do much. We re going to make sure we get things right and do what we’re expected to do to make sure they don’t penetrate our defense,” a confident Dare Ojo said.
Both teams lost their last NPFL matches while on the road, 3SC losing 4-1 to Kano Pillars, while the Harmony Warriors were humbled 2-0 by Heartland leaving them 2 points above relegation zone..
