Sunshine Stars striker Tunde Adeniji has revealed that he is not afraid of the competition by Super Eagles co-strikers Emmanuel Emenike and Anthony Ujah.
Adeniji is the only home-based striker picked by coach Sunday Oliseh in his 24-man list of players to face Tanzania in next month’s AFCON qualifiers clash. The striker got picked ahead of Warri Wolves’ Gbolahan Salami and Heartland’s Bright Ejike.
The Nigeria Professional Football League leading scorer says he can win a shirt if he is given to opprtunity to play for Super Eagles.
“I am not afraid of the competition. I know that if am given the opportunity, I can win a shirt in the squad,” Adeniji declared.
“This is football and I have confidence in my ability, but the first thing for me is to make sure I meet what the coach expects from us. As for me I will continue to give my best to make the final squad,” Adeniji concluded.
Adeniji has scored 13 goals for second placed Sunshine Stars in the NPFL this season, making him the league’s leading scorer..
